SANTA BARBARA, Calif., March 30, 2026 — The U.S. Postal Service will issue a new International Peace Forever® stamp featuring an origami crane folded by artist and author Sue DiCicco, founder of The Peace Crane Project, a global initiative that has engaged more than two million students in over 150 countries.

DiCicco, an artist and author, has spent more than a decade working with students worldwide through The Peace Crane Project, an initiative centered on the origami crane as a symbol of peace.

DiCicco founded the project in 2012 following the Sandy Hook school shootings as a way for students to express themselves through the arts by exchanging messages of peace.

The stamp will be officially unveiled May 27, 2026.

The design highlights the origami crane’s longstanding role as a global symbol of peace.

The Peace Crane Project organizes international classroom exchanges and related programs connecting students across cultures through shared creative expression.
