TIPS AND TRICKS FOR SHIPPING

Flatten your cranes! If you can get send them in a large envelope and keep the envelope fairly flat, your bill for shipping will be much less than shipping a box!

Shipping to another country? Check with your post office first. Some countries have limitations on what can be shipped to its citizens. “Children’s Artwork,” for instance, is prohibited in several countries. Be careful how you word the contents on the customs form.

Ask the post office about shipping times. We have seen cranes take eight months to be delivered.

ALWAYS EMAIL PHOTOS OF YOUR CRANES and pen-pal letters to your exchange partner before shipping. Things happen. The cranes might take a while to arrive. They may get lost. Sending email photos assures the students experience the exchange, even if they do not end up with a crane.

Do you have additional tips? Please send them to us and we will add them here. Thank you.
